Texas Skillet


Ingredients (Serves 10):


Everything you need to make this recipe perfectly:

  • 2 Lbs. Ground Beef

  • 1-1/2 Cups Chopped Onions

  • 2 Cans Diced tomatoes (16 oz. )- Do Not Drain

  • 2 Cans Kidney Beans (16 oz.) Do Not Drain

  • 1 Cup Elbow Macaroni

  • ½ Cup Green Pepper/diced

  • 3 Tsp Chili Powder

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 1-1/2 Cup Shredded Cheese

  • 1 Cup crushed tortilla chips

Section 2: Directions


Directions should always be short and to the point.

  1. In large skillet, brown beef and onions until beef is cooked and onion tender.

  2. DRAIN FAT.

  3. Stir in Tomatoes (with juice), Kidney Beans (with liquid), macaroni, green pepper, chili powder and salt.

  4. Bring to boil, then turn down heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

  5. Top with cheese and cover about 3 minutes till cheese melts.

  6. Sprinkle with crushed tortilla chips.

Can be made ahead. Follow instructions until mixture has simmered 20 minutes. Put into

Casserole dish and cool. When ready to reheat, put in 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Add cheese at end and let melt.
