Christian Outreach in Action, for over 40 years, has the privilege of issuing nutritious foods and meals to the homeless, low-income families, seniors, physically and mentally ill, and veterans within the Long Beach community. We are not government-funded and provide for our neighbors in need by relying entirely on donations from our generous donors.
The pandemic has created a high surge in food prices, directly impacting low to middle-income families. This inflation brings increases in poverty, threatening to reverse some of the progress made in recent years in battling food insecurity. Up to 130 million additional people globally are now at risk of becoming acutely food insecure, with mothers and children particularly impacted.
Many of our neighbors within the Long Beach community are still recovering from the continuing pandemic and the associated economic fallout. People in our community are still struggling to find work. Please help us provide support to people new to food assistance, as well as those struggling even before the pandemic.
How you can Make a Difference
The number of people experiencing homelessness has increased significantly in Long Beach and elsewhere over the last two years, during the coronavirus pandemic. On top of homeless people needing meals, more people are coming to our food bank who are on the brink of becoming homeless.
Just $25 per month can aid in providing a month’s worth of food to a fellow neighbor in need of basic essentials.
The number of people experiencing homelessness has increased significantly in Long Beach and elsewhere over the last two years, during the coronavirus pandemic. On top of homeless people needing meals, more people are coming to our food bank who are on the brink of becoming homeless.
As an increase since the 2020’s pandemic, we have given healthy, nutritious food to over 8,500 individuals and families in need within the Long Beach area. We have therefore extended our foodbank to five days a week (to include a seniors-only foodbank day). We also provide prepared breakfasts seven days a week, prepared lunches on Saturdays and every last Sunday of the month, and prepared dinners five days a week.
Without your assistance to stock our food supply, we will not have enough to meet the high demand.

$22.50 can provide 10 people with a prepared meal.
$33.75 can provide 15 people with one prepared meal and essential care.

Hygiene Kits - for essential needs
Water Station – to help with dehydration on a hot day
Legal Aid – legal advice from an attorney

1. Make a charitable bequest: simply request in your last will and testament/living trust that you want certain assets to be distributed to Christian Outreach in Action. Assets can include household items, clothing, appliances, investment securities, jewelry, homes, and automobiles.
2. Name us as a beneficiary in a Donor Advised Fund (DAF). You can donate assets now to a DAF, and receive an immediate tax reduction. Then include Christian Outreach in Action as your designated charity, which will then be dispersed to us after your passing.
